Jackson High

1975 State Championship Team
The 1975 Jackson High state championship team was a gritty, disciplined squad that defined the program’s early identity. Led by head coach Frank “Iron” Daniels, the team was known for its suffocating defense and relentless work ethic on and off the field. Quarterback Tony “T-Bird” Reynolds orchestrated a balanced offense that combined precision passing with a bruising ground game. Running back Marcus Hill rushed for over 1,500 yards that season, earning state MVP honors for his toughness and leadership. The team’s defense, anchored by linebacker Carl Jennings, allowed fewer than 10 points per game and forced turnovers at key moments. Their playoff run included two come-from-behind victories that became local legend, capped by a dramatic 21–17 win in the championship game. The 1975 team not only brought home the school’s first state title but also set the standard for future generations. Decades later, players from that roster are still celebrated as the foundation of Jackson High's championship legacy.
